Glitter In The Air - Pink

Though i'm slightly embarrassed to admit it, I heard this on The Hills last night. and the metaphors and images and personification all caught my att. [God, im starting to sound like my creative writing prof.] Uhh...the song is just beautifully blunt. Glitter in the Air is off Pink's Funhouse album.

passion.

Currently, my phone's background- I JUST LOVE THIS COVER OF M. ALI ON ESQUIRE MAGAZINE. I was in this record store in Atl over Thanksgiving and there was a book of the 100 best magazine covers [EVER]. It was only like $15 but I had just splurged on some Gucci frames and swore i'd spend NO MORE MONEY. So, I left it there =( But if anyone is lookin' to buy me a reasonable Christmas/Bday gift, there you go! Anyway, in the book is where i found this. Its sorta where my heads at right now-

Don't EVER misconstrue my dignity with pride. As anyone knows to keep a thing and to stifle a thing is different. Pride [in abundance] can stifle me, but dignity can only keep me-

Donnie McClurkin!

Wow! So D. Mcclurkin came to my church [Mississippi Blvd. Christian Church; senior servant Dr./Pastor Frank A. Thomas] this past Sunday. And I've always been a fan of his gospel min.. He was featured in our Christmas Concert. Which btw the children's, youth and adult choir were all excellent!! Anyhow I was definitely impressed by Mr. McClurkin's vocals, testimony and mainly his dedication. He performed his music in mult. languages [English [of course] Japanese, Dutch, Spanish] and still managed to be just as powerful. In Japanese, he brought tears to my eyes! Most of the time I couldn't understand a word he was singing, but I certainly felt his heart in the music. And that is whats powerful-

Point being, whatever career I choose I honestly hope my dedication can be received just as powerfully. You dont have to understand me-

SHOE-OUT!!

LMAO!! THIS IS ALMOST COMPARABLE TO 'CRAZY GIRL ON TRAIN'. Now, I am by NO MEANS political. I actually try to stray away from politics as much as I can [other than adhering to my honorable and thus righteous duties as a citizen of EARTH]. But otherwise, I have my opinions. And in my O_PINION- THIS SHIT HILARIOUS!

For those unaware, its customary in Iraq/Arab-culture for shoes to be used as a sign of belittlement and UTTER disrespect because "it is the dirtiest part on [also] the lowest part of one's body." After itd been torn down, some Iraqi-people used their shoes to beat the head of the statue Sadaam Husein...Which shines some light on just how special Pres. Bush must be!

"...but I'm in love with someone else"

Aside from my most recent blog entry, Other Variations..., I've taken a small [nonetheless constructive] break from blogging. However, I'm back! But amid my 2 week-ish absence I've [somewhat] assessed myself [the blogger] and YOU [the blog reader].
In conclusion: IM BORED WITH MYSELF! This is NOT me. Well, certainly it is; but concurring, it isn't. I like poetry! Like hard core-spitting on the mic-out of breath-sweat dripping-I'm black and I'm proud-soufully simple-analytically complex-politically incorrectly stated-spiritually electrifying-mentally stimulating-SLAM-spoken word-prose proposed-rhythmically sound POETRY! Ya know, the GOOD stuff! And while the things I blog about are also interests of mine; I cant help but feel like they're [probably] more things that interest you [or so I assume].I'm a follower of many blogs and while some defy the norm, many if not most are just online fashion/media-takes.
[X]This just marks the turning point for F.L.S where I insert more elements outside that which can be seen on Talk Soup. The idea here is to create something worth reading-

Other variations of my name don't impress me

In her documentary, For the Record, Britney Spears gives us all insight into her life.

Umm...I [just] really wish she'd considered highering her education.
